Into the Wild Preview
The new book in which our English class will be going over and reading together individually and as a class, Into the Wild, was written by John Krakauer. Chris grew up on in the state of Virginia as a child. This story was based upon a true story about the actual life travels the man had to face and death of Christopher Mccandless. In the book Christopher is a graduate of the University of Emory. A short period elapsed after he graduate college that he gave up basically all his money and his possessions, he also changed his name to Alexander Supertramp. He stopped contact with all friends and family that he had and at the time they were puzzled at what he did. He was found dead in an abandoned bus in Alaska where he arrived hiking. He had taken with him 10 pounds of rice, a rifle, camera, and a field guide to all the plants that he would be able to eat in the area and he survived around 119 days in Alaska with only those things taken with him. The book goes into some detail about his journey throughout his remarkable experience and the bravery and boldness it took to go after such an expedition.
